Following Jesus' example working to show God's love to all through worship and service
Welcome to the website of Harrow Baptist Church.
We are situated in the heart of Harrow town in North West London, a short walk from the main transport hub.
We extend a special welcome to those who are single, married, divorced, widowed, confused, rich, comfortable, or poor ! We welcome those who are inked, pierced or both. Those with noisy children or if you have additional needs. You’re welcome if you are from the UK or anywhere in the world, or just passing by.
We welcome you if you can sing like Pavarotti or your voice makes the dogs howl. You’re welcome here if you’re ‘just browsing,’ just woke up or had a really difficult past and want to start a new and better life.
We extend a special welcome to those who are over 60 but not grown up yet and to teenagers who are growing up too fast. We welcome keep-fit mums, football dads, latte-sippers and junk-food eaters. We welcome those who are in recovery or still addicted. We welcome you if you’re having problems or if you don’t like ‘organised religion.’
If you blew all your money on a gamble, you’re welcome here. We offer a welcome to those who think church isn’t for them but would like to give it a try. Those who work too hard, don’t work, can’t spell, or because grandma is in town and she wanted to go to church.
We offer a special welcome to those who could use a prayer right now, haven’t thought about faith much, don’t know much about the Bible but would like to learn more. Those who just got lost on the Harrow one way roads and wound up here by mistake. We welcome tourists, seekers and doubters, broken hearts… and you!”
Development Work
The long awaited development to our church building is scheduled to begin this week. We are doing what we can to mitigate against any disruption, but some disruption is inevitable and we ask you to extend us a little grace and patience over the next few months, as we navigate any changes. Please pray for safety for those on site, for peaceful relations during what is likely to be a stressful time, and for vision to use this new space creatively for God’s Kingdom.
Sunday 17 .11.24 is the Baptists Together: Safeguarding Sunday
A prayer for Safeguarding Sunday: Dear God, Help us to be a church that: Loves, welcomes, protects. Listens, learns, serves. Repents, restores, transforms. Values, cares, believes. God of Justice and compassion, hear our prayer. Help us, heal us, guide us, we pray. In Jesus name. Amen

We are a diverse group of all ages who have come from a wide variety of backgrounds and countries. Many in our community have grown up in different types of churches and some are new to church and just starting out learning about faith.
We are an inclusive church and come together to worship and serve Jesus in a spirit of tolerance to each other and understanding of our diversity of backgrounds and faith journey. We are open to each other and our different points of view as we seek to learn more of God.
We aim to serve our local area in all its diversity from the
lonely, the homeless and the vulnerable, to families, businesses, charities and
community groups. We have a variety of activities going on through the week.
Look through our website and if you want to get in touch, have a look at the
‘Contact Us’ page – we’d love to hear from you!
Wherever you are on your journey of faith, you are very welcome and we would love to meet you
Lord, I want to meet with You,
I want to tell You about the things that are troubling me.
I want to share my joys and tell you how about my day.
In the quiet of this hour I want to know You are with me.
In the stillness I will wait for You to come to me.
Do you need to pray with someone? We are open most of the week and you will usually be able to find someone to pray with or leave a prayer request. However, we have special prayer times open to all on Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 11:00. This is a good time to come along and share your prayer needs.
